Borke LCD...anything i can do?

So i was in a car accident...laptop got thrown from the vehicle and cracked the LCD...everything else works though...like i can attach a monitor and everything works just fine...
So the insurance company wont cover it...dell wont cover it (they want $900 to fix it and i only payed $600 for the laptop)...and not sure where else to turn....
anyone know if possible to find used laptop screens for a dell 1100 for like under $200? MY laptop has a lot of upgrades (hd/ram/cdrw/dvd drive) so I'd kinda like to keep all that stuff and just get a new shell/screen for it almost without spending another $600? any ideas?

I'd say try ebay.
1. Try to find the lcd
2. Sell your parts get a new laptop.

Dell may also sell the LCD thru their spare parts store. Not sure if that is what you are refering to when you say 900, I can't imagine it costing that much though. And you'd have to be able to install it youself.

pull the panel out of your lappy, see who made it and what model and buy one on fleabay.
