sittin around watching the simpsons...having a rum and coke...should i go out to a bar by myself? there are no good "local" bars here in LA that I have found...

i'm at home watching college volleyball 😱. there just sin't a night life here (hawaii), unless you are a clubber or have a gf 🙁.
Then go to sleep CorporateRecreation, in the end, it will be worth it IMO 🙂

well went to a bar...no seats at the bar open...no small tables open...but not crowded enough to have a lot of people standing...i wasnt gonna stand there by myself...so turned around, came home made myself another drink...
"local" meaning i feel comforatable going in there by myself for a drink...i spent the summer in houston and could go into almost any bar and feel at home by myself...same with baltimore...

I went to some lame ass dance party. It was real cool at the begining, but then it got all slow. And all of the older women left or something... lame.
I should have gone to this ripping concert. I know it would have been cool. Danm me and my penis. Always making bad decisions for me.
I figured that the dance would be hot women who would want to dance. They were hot, just young. At the concert, there are hot women, I can never get any though. So I have given up attempting to pick up chicks at the local concerts. I just go for the music and good times. Danm my penis for making me go to that lame dance. Danm it to hell.

Some good bars (my faves)
West
Father's Office (Santa Monica). Very laid back but great crowd. Most late 20's-40's, upscale. Many attractive ladies. Best burgers on the planet, 38 brews on tap and bottles of 12% trappist ales that will knock you on your ass. Fantastic wine list too. Expect standing room only if you arrive mid-evening.
East
Tiki Ti (Los Feliz/Silverlake). Grab your hawaiian shirt, you're going on vacation. This place is about as big as a shoebox, so expect a wait of 30-60 minutes to get in late on a weekend night. Privately owned so smoking IS allowed. Friendly crowd. $8-10 per drink but don't expect to get a rum and coke. You must order from the drink menu, which has such creations as "Ray's Mistake" and my favorite, the "Blood and Sand" (watch as everyone screams "TORO!!!!" while a ridiculous amount of tequila is being poured on top) which is made with countless ingredients from unmarked bottles. Most taste like, well, tropical drinks, and you are guaranteed to be tossed midway through drink #2. Bring a DD.
Good Luck Bar (Los Feliz). Literally a block from the Tiki Ti and a good standby. Dark, very red Oriental decor. A lot more "hip" and "happening" but also has that gritty hole-in-the-wall feel. Nice crowd but a lot younger. Not a place to just "chill." Great specialty drinks but their normal bar service isn't bad.
The Drawing Room (Los Feliz). If there was ever a "locals" bar this is it. Small, dingy, and full of people who leave at closing and are waiting around the next morning at opening. Still fun.
Ye Olde Rustic Inn (Los Feliz). Another good "locals" place. Decent prices, greasy food, red upholstery and dim lighting for you old-schoolers.
South
Fishack (Hermosa Beach Pier). A welcome relief from the overhyped bungle that is the Hermosa Beach bar scene. Nice 2nd story patio that overlooks the pier and the crowds. Standard beer and alcohol, dance floor, friendly atmosphere.

i shoulda checked that out...ive heard a lot about it...oh well its after 12 now...maybe tom. night....ah well i went out last night, i just hate being home on friday nights....
