Borders 30% off one item.

coupons really arent supposed to be poseted here ya know 😛

but theres a $10 off $40 one thats a better deal if your buying books under ~$50

I thought if it was a coupon provided by the retailer then it was ok. If you search for borders, there have been several of these posted before.

Actually this is ok.

You may post:

* Links to scans of coupons that invite you to share them with your friends.

on the email it says I can forward it...

Fair enough then. Mods can delete it if they still feel it's inappropriate. I'd use this but I can't think of anything I want from there now. Oh well, thanks anyways.

30% >> 0.3 * $40 = $12, $12 > $10 off.

Thanks OP. This may be a good deal if the item is low (or fairly) priced to begin with. I wanted to get Family Guy vol3, they have it "on sale" at $29.99. "Original price" is $39.99, which is what they use as base price, so the coupon would have saved me a grand total of $2. Feh.

This is exactly what I was hoping to find here today....

Will use it on an Entertainment book

Thanks OP!

I think I'm missing something here 10 off 40 = 25%

$40 book with 30% off = $28

am I missing something?

colder than cold since Borders is overpriced. I bought a book for my wife and it's cheaper from Amazon even though I used the coupon. For discussion sake it's Martha's Stewart's Baking Handbook.

I tend to agree, I rarely buy anything at a B&M, but for right now the coupon will make it reasonable. In other words, unless you pay for faster shipping from Amazon, if you want a book for an x-mas gift, B&M it is...

What about COURTESY?

No thread crapping. If the subject matter of a deal does not interest you, do not post negative comments about it, or about other members, in the thread

Just a heads-up: the coupon says it can't be used with sale-priced items, but I've been buying already-discounted stuff with this coupon for the past few days and haven't had a single one turned away yet. Worst they can say is no, but none have. I just slide the book to them with the coupon on top and act nonchalant. Give it a try 🙂

Unfortunately that's not what happened to me:

If the item you wish to buy is xx% off, and most books there are xx% off the retail inflated price on the book jacket, they said the coupon was only valid on items that were priced at the retail price found on the book jacket.

Same for CDs. The retail price of CDs sold there is as much as $18-$20 so even with the coupon, it's more than in electronic stores that have them priced $9.99 to $13.99 at most.

I mean, who buys books at retail jacket prices? You can just get them online from reputable stores for less without a coupon.

"colder than cold since Borders is overpriced."

manga costs the same everwhere, 30% off $9.99 is nothing to sneeze at imo
why is beck $9.99 though? they didn't have to translate it -- the creator is nisei/sansei!

Make, I could have used this yesterday. I bought the Hudsucker Proxy DVD at Borders because I couldn't find it anywhere else B&M and needed it in a jiffy. Would have saved me $5!

Thanks, nebula! At the check out line, the gal ahead of the gal in front of me had a coupon and the one between us said she had printed it but forgot to bring it with her and had to go home to get it.

Not necessarily true. Here's an example. Today I bought the Dreamweaver 8 For Dummies book. Jacket price is $24.99. Coupon brought it down to roughly 17.50 (before tax). Now if I had bought this book at Amazon, it would have been 16.50 + shipping which would have brought the total to $20.48 (using cheapest shipping method) not to mention not being able to use the book right away.

All in all, this is a pretty sweet coupon.

its also 10% off electronics apparently.

not bad if you want a PSP or xbox360 (though the odds of a 360 being in stock are low).

i don tknow if every borders sells electronics but the one near my office sells xbox360s.
