Thanks Qbah, shame about the AA but I'll pick up the tool. I can't imagine how it'd look without the black lines! :)

Just a comment on the original problem, I know that certain controllers/systems in the past had this problem; they may even still, no idea.

If the joystick on the controller isn't centered during boot then it would calculate the central point using that off-position, so even if the controller wasn't being touched the 'real' center would read as relatively left, right, whatever. It's possible that even without the controller connected/on that it could leave some sort of 'residual' or 'most recent' setting on the system.

I would restart the PC with the mouse/kb/controller all plugged in, making sure to touch nothing during boot and see if maybe it can re-orient itself.

Don't mean to hijack the thread but I am looking for someone to play Borderlands with. None of my friends have any interest in this game and so I am forced to search for a buddy online.

I just started a new character... Lvl 3. If anyone wants to play evenings EST timezone, let me know...

Me and my Bro played on lan but starting to think it was a waste of time because it doesn't look like we'll be able to take our characters online. It's a multiplayer game afterall...no one buy L4D to play it singleplayer :p

So I guess my Lan characters are basically just single player characters. Bleh. Oh well I didn't like my berserker much anyways. I picked him because I didn't want to use a shotgun like it said the main guy does.

Huh? You can use the same character in Singleplayer and Multiplayer. When you host or join a game online, you can select your SP character as the one you play with.

As for who can use what, everybody can use everything. However, classes have unique class mods (called COMs), that focus on specific weapon types (like Siren -> SMG / Sniper). Though there are many many COMs that do not focus on a weapon type at all and grant bonuses to extra elemental damage or boost regens (+skills). You have great freedom to play the game as you wish.

I'm on the 360 but I'd think lan wouldn't be any different as you can use the same character in both single player & multiplayer.

Also all classes can use any gun, it's just that between skills and class mods that each class is better off using certain kinds.

Normal game
Berserker: Rocket launchers / Things that go boom
Hunter: Pistols (all kinds) / Sniper rifles
Siren: SMG / Elemental guns
Soldier: Combat rifles (both burst fire & full auto) / Shotguns

The Knoxx DLC added some class mods that focus on different guns
Berserker: Shotguns
Siren: Sniper rifles
Soldier: Rocket launchers

I'm still having a real tough time dealing with my character constantly moving right or left for no reason. Sometimes disabling things in device manager will fix it, sometimes it won't. Again I wonder why more people don't have this problem and why the game hates me specifically.
