Finally beat it. Fun game, abrupt ending, but still fun nonetheless. I think I'm a level 32 soldier, maybe level 33. End boss was too easy, and the walk to get to him very long and prolonged, but all in all, fun game. Does GOTY have more content or something?

My son and I played through borderlands co-op, and was a blast. I think it took around 20 hours, +or- a little bit.

Your right about the ending, it was a let down. Where was the treasure that was talked about the whole game? My son and I finished the game, killed the boss and said "it that it?"

Besides the ending, I thought Borderlands was a good game.

Game of the year edition comes with some expansions

The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned
Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot
The Secret Armory of General Knoxx
Claptrap's Robot Revolution

Steam will sometimes have the expansions on sale

just a FYI from my point of view if you decide to buy some addons:

The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned-ok worth a look
Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot-worthless
The Secret Armory of General Knoxx-best of bunch
Claptrap's Robot Revolution-ok

Sort of on-topic, I beat Zombie Island and then tried Moxxi's Underdome but it's kind of annoying. Do you have to beat each 'arena' challenge in one sitting? I've only played it 2 or 3 times but it seems like it never saves my "wave" progress.

I also found the DLC very repetitive. You would probably have more fun just playing through the original game again with a different character.

Ending is kinda fail, yup.
Just remember the game is really meant to be played in playthrough 2. Once you've turned in that final quest you'll have the option to play in PT2, which is generally more challenging throughout & will take you to level 58 (assuming you've got the latest patch). With Knoxx you can max @ 69.
Once you finish the game in PT2, the entire game scales so everything is your level for the main game, & all the DLC which adds more replayability as then everywhere is a challenge.

Make sure you grab the DLC; they add a lot of gameplay, especially Knoxx. Most of us still playing the game spend a lot of time there.
If you like finding good loot, Knoxx has the infamous Crawmerax you can farm for awesome stuff, & the Armory as well (lots of chest :D)

Moxxi is all arena battles, but also gives you the option for additional bank space for items. Also you get a skill point for each playthrough of the three short arena battles (total = 2)

Zombie Island has a really nice atmosphere, & it's always fun headshotting zombies :D

The Clap is probably the weakest of the DLCs; feels rehashed & lacking so i wouldn't really recommend it, though you do get a skill tree point for each playthrough (two total).

Yes, you need to do the 5x5 waves all at once.
If you think that's annoying lol, imagine doing the 20 waves...

Or play co-op with someone. The vehicles are a blast with 2 people - 1 driving and 1 gunning.

When my son and I played borderlands co-op, he would drive the vehicle and I would man the rocket launcher. We played over the LAN at my house, so there was no internet lag.

Playing through Borderlands with my son was probably one of the most memorable gaming experiences of my life, it was just that much fun.

COOP makes the game all worth it. Of all the DLCs, General Knoxx is the best, very expansive with a lot of quests, hilarious dialogue also. I got the game with all DLCs on Steamsale for 20 bucks, best 20 I've ever spent.

Got it over the christmas sale, only played through the first area so far. Very different type of game/graphics but pretty fun once you understand the way it plays.
