yeah, I have to agree, the art style was awesome in BLs

To each it's own. :)

I thought it was too "cartoony" for me and didn't care for it. The whole time I was playing it, I was distracted by the graphics. It really detracted from the game for me.

One.

Or the other.

Or both.

Seriously, make your own decisions. My opinion is not the same as your opinion. Do the research and buy the game that is most appealing to you. Or buy both and not have to worry about it.

Asking random strangers on the Interwebs to make your decisions for you has to be one of the silliest things I've ever seen.

I'm hoping to find either of this black friday, does anyone know if either of them are expected to be in any sale (for the PC)

Please point out where exactly I was asking for opinion on the game, just asking which is one may or may not be on sale during black friday.
I think people who don't actually read the OP but just judge it by the reactions to it are silly

Yup. It's also been on sale for $40 at Amazon for a while now, if you want to avoid the crowds and don't mind paying and waiting for shipping (though the paying part balances out with the taxes from brick-and-mortar stores).

Borderlands - Huge empty spaces [obviously designed for co-play], cell shading cartoon styling, awesomely mindless fun especially if you party with 3 other people who aren't loot whores or arseholes. Questing/rpg/story is minimal [takes a back seat to the combat and trying to find better equipment] - it's more of a get your hands dirty and have some killing cartoony combat fun. Reminds me of playing L4D - tons more fun if you're playing with others - kinda empty/boring after awhile if you're running around solo.

Dragon Age - Epic story [all of it voice acted with or without subtitles], romance, humor [banter between Alistair and Morrigan is hilarious], awesome RPG system [glad they didn't follow the official D&D rules], awesome bloody combat. If you want to experience the full effect of Dragon Age - I'd suggest the digital deluxe edition. Alas - I doubt it will be on sale anytime soon. The vanilla DA is just fine without the DLC's/extra goodies [armors, staff, exp book] - pending you actually pay attention to the story and don't skip through the dialogue - it'll take you awhile to finish this game.

if you have friends playing borderlands, get that.

If you dont have any friends playing borderlands, get Dragon's age.

Dragon's age will take more time then borderlands.

Borderlands will rape dragon's age if u have friends to coop with.
Dragons age will rape borderlands, if you like true RPG's with full on story.

Speaking from experience as i have both.
Currently im stuck on dragon's age. The dialogs in it is absolutely speachless.
They did an absolute incredible job on the story and characters.

Which is why i say u will get a better single player experence in dragon's age.
However borderlands is insane with 4 people coop and u have at least 3/4 classes.

Im always down to stop Dragons Age and help out a friend in borderlands.
However i wouldn't play it unless i had friends playing it.
Its not worth your time... crappier drops, and a level cap.. :T

I think Dragons Age also has a level cap, however i havent gotten to it yet.

Guys, I appreciate all the advice on which to get and why, I was just wondering if anyone knew for sure if either were going to be a black friday deal. If BL is 20 bux (I know it won't be) I'd snag it, it BL is still 49 bux and DA is 30 bux, I'll get DA...
I like the looks of both games, just trying to find the better deal
And this is for the PC, not xbox or ps3. Thanks.

i'm having trouble deciding between Dragon Age: Origins, King's Bounty: Armored Princess, BorderLands, Majesty 2, or save money for the PC releases of Divinity 2 or Mass Effect 2.

i'll probably get DAO since i've been waiting for it ever since it was announced and later get King's Bounty. i spend way too much on games.

Yea - i was in the same position; waiting for kb ap forever (kbl ws great); then the game was delayed and da dropped to 39 so i went with da. As a game da is kind of lame (poor mechanics/combat) but the presentation is top notch and the quests are interesting. Would love to see da+toe or da+bg2 game that has both good presentation and good gaming. Anyways just before da I picked up torchlight on a whim after about a week and 'finishing' the game I put it down as a rather lame mindless repeat of fate. I figure borderlands is similar to torchlight if you are solo ('cept first person).

Anyways for me I think the sequence will go da, kbap, dv2 (I really like this company) and me2 (though i'm worried how intrusive paid dlc will be IN the game).
