Booting to XP setup without boot disk...

my buddy told me that you can use a WIn98 boot disk to get to DOS and from there run the XP setup program from DOS using the setup command...

well, i just formatted my machine, popped in the boot disk and when I enter the 'setup' command i get a message saying "Thes program cannot be run in DOS mode"

how to i get this thing to install without a boot disk?!?!?

ok i got to setup...

it starts copying files for a minute or so, then it just hangs where it says "Copying files to your computer" or something alike...

CDROM doesnt spin and harddrive doesnt either... any ideas?

what he said.

also, you might want to try deleting your format (via the XP setup program) and reformatting as NTFS.
