I have a Windows 2003 Server Enterprise CD, and when I put it in my CD drive and try and boot the system to it, it won't boot, it will just pass it up and load the currently installed OS.
The files and folders on the CD are as follows:
[Folders]
DOCS
I386
PRINTERS
SUPPORT
VALUEADD
[Files]
AUTORUN.INI
README.HTM
SETUP.EXE
WIN51
WIN51IA

If I load the CD in the OS and double click on SETUP.EXE it will launch the GUI to Browse the CD, install W2K3 Enterprise etc. How can I boot to the CD and perform this? Thanks.

Is this a normal retail CD with a hologram on it, or a burned copy?
Are you able to get a "press any key to boot from cd..." message from this or any other CD you try on your machine?

Go into your bios and make sure that your cdrom is the second boot device, with the floppy drive being the first.

It's not an origional CD, it's a burned copy made from one here at work. We do a lot of installations and burn a lot of copies. It's an exact copy of the origional, but it won't boot for some reason? You don't need an autoexec.bat to boot a cd do you? It just seems like there might be something missing getting it to boot?

heh. See that's the problem. You gotta make a copy of the copy! The original says "do not make illegal copies of this disc." The copy doesn't have that on there so if you make a copy of that one, it will work.

Instructions are on page 7.
