amd 970

the problem i have, is when i shut off the computer through windows, and then try to start the computer, nothing happens, the lights on computer comes on , no beep, no video, and i cannot shut off computer with power button.

solution-i have to pull the power plug on psu, hit the i/o switch, wait till the juice is out of the compenents, put the power plug back in, switch it to i, and then start the computer, and it will not start with a beep and video

i have tryed different psu,s, different cpu,s ,,,,,i am thinking the chip on motherboard is bad....

any suggestions????

whats odd, if i shut off the computer , and restart..then i have to pull the power plug on psu...but if i shut it off overnight and then start it, it will start without pulling power cord...wierd???

Almost sounds like a part inside the psu is heating up just hot enough to not shut it down because the fan's keeping just cool enough to run, but once you shut down, its temp spikes (no active cooling so it heats up) and takes a while to cool down enough to "cold boot".

Try another power supply that's known good.

bought a new motherboard, ASUS M5A88-V EVO, and everything is working perfectly...i did try another psu on the problem gigabyte board, and the problem was still there...i still think the chipset on the motherboard was not working correctly...just a quess
