Mainboard K7T RAID = new bios = no bios issues for this.

I've heard about this 1024 cilinder limit is a lilo issue and newer versions allow /BOOT be placed above it.

I run Conectiva Linux 6.0 (a brazilian distrib...ok. You don't know it!...)

Am I right? How to upgrade lilo? Any suggestions?

There is a new version of LILO out that can boot above 1024.
If your distro supports RPM you can try to find it and do it that way.
In the mean time install LILO to the first Linux partition instead of the MBR and boot with a floppy. Once/if you find an RPM for the new LILO install it that way.

Oh! Thanks!
My distr works with RPMs.

Who knows about this RPM, or another answer for this problem?

Man... I've searched an found thousands of lilos! I am quite confuse. I don't know if a lilo from a different distro works with Conectiva Linux. And how to be sure that a lilo RPM will boot when placing /BOOT above cilinder 1024?

Come on, linux experts... where are you?

To keep RPMs happy why don't you get a RPM of LILO from the development version of Conectiva?

Best would be the newest version of lilo from your linux vendor. This version was posted a year ago. What version do you have? The changes were posted in version 21-3.
