Booting linux ABOVE 1024 cilider: Do you know something about it?

I received an e-mail repply from SUSE linux support answering me that the next release (7.1) will be capable to boot with /boot above the cilinder 1024.

There are another distrib. capable of this?

I believe the new Mandrake supports his. And I'm pretty certain Red Hat has or soon will have his option..

This is actually a Lilo problem, and the news versions of it can handle the "1023" boundary
without any probems!!

Use any distro with the latest LILO and you can do this.

Anyways, I always recommend making a ~20 MB "boot" partition at the beginning of your first physical hard drive.
