HI, im trying to boot my w2k advance server with a boot disk. But my question is how can i boot it so i can access the c:\ drive to copy some files and make a directory??

i booted with a win98se boot disk and wasnt able to see the drives. Then i tried a program called ntfsdos but the free version only allows me to read the files. and the full version cost around $300 i believe. I dont want to shell out that much just to copy a few files and make a directory. So is tehre s similar program out there thats free??

or can anyone tell me how else i can see the contents on the c:\ drive?

thanks
Laura

If your drive is formatted to NTFS, you won't be able to see it using the Windows 98 boot disk. Have you tried using your hard drive's utility disk and low-formatting or writing zeros to the drive? You don't have a bootable Windows 2000 AS CD do you? Hope this helps.

Try here also (Bootdisk.com) 🙂

in dos u just have to type in

c:/dir = u can see contents that way
c:/.. = so u can go back

c:/xxxx = xxx's are the name of folder, to access the folder
