ello chaps. I have just fitted a GF7050-M2 mainboard, everything is ok except I cannot boot from my hardrive. I have loaded windows XP on hardrive which appeared to go on ok. The hardrive and cd drive appear to be working ok.The hardrive and cd drive are showing in bios.I have altered boot sequence several time, but will not boot from hardrive. I have the hardrive as master and cd drive as slave on ide 1.Can you help

On the screen it shows

Boot from CD:
DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER.

This just keeps happening, can you help?

So you installed the mobo and went through a fresh windows xp installation? Or did you just install the mobo. I want to help, but i just need more info.

Hello MeSh1

Any ideas, this is a step by step of what we did. Still no booting from hardrive.

Entered Bios
First Boot Device CD Rom
Second Boot Device Hard Disk
Disabled Floppy Drive

Load Optimized Defaults Yes
No Windows Disk Yet
Quitting Bios

Hardware Monitor shows yellow
Boot from CD:
Disk failure, insert system disk and press enter.

Insert New Windows disk in CD drive
Pressed enter
Setup inspecting hardware
Setup is loading files

New Window
To setup Windows XP now press enter
Pressed enter
Licence agreed (F8)

New Window
Shows partition [NTFS]
Setup Windows on selected item, press enter

New Window
It says ? Contains another operating system
Use this partition ? press C

New Window
Format the partition using the NTFS file system
Enter
Format press (F)
Formatting
Setup is copying files
Hard drive light is flashing
Computer re-booting with Windows disk in CD drive
Windows setup starts all over again (repeats itself).

Did not completely install Windows
Went back in Bios altered Boot sequence.

First Boot Hard Disk
Second Boot CD Rom
Third disabled.
Save to CMOS and Exit Yes
Restarting
Hard drive light on
Then back to Hardware monitor on screen
Then it says as before.

Boot from CD:
Disk Boot Failure, Insert System disk and press enter.

Try unpluggin all drives sata and/or ide and only plug in the drive that houses your OS to see if that will boot.
