What is the order of boot up on a totally new computer? What does the mobo check for?

Reason I'm asking is cuz I just put together a computer and it displays the video card info, gives the usual beep, then does nothing. Can't check the BIOS or get anything to boot. Could be a million things I guess. 🙁 Suggestions?
 
Sound like a RAM Problem...make sure it is seated properly then if that does not work try a different bank. I would also make sure the CPU is properly installed also.

Are there any unusual beeps? an extended beep, or a series of beeps? If so, check the manual and in the troubleshooting section it will tell you what the beeps corispond(sp?) to.
 
ausm: Hmmm... could be the RAM. Took me forever just to stick it in there.

Fandu: No special beeps. Just the usual beep during boot up except no BIOS stuff. Actually, it doesn't beep sometimes. Eh, I'll probably take it all apart and do it again. 😛

Back to work... (grumble, grumble)
 
Try removing all expansion cards, hard drives, etc form the mobo, then remove all RAM and then re-insert one ram stick making sure it's fully seated. Then remove the cpu and re-seat it making sure it's all the way down. then try booting.
