i just installed winxp onto my hard drive through a format process. i did not create any partitions. usually, i would see dos prompting which OS i would like to select when i partition the primary drive, but this is not the case. does anybody know how to disable dos from prompting what operating system i would like to select?

Erm......not sure exactly what you mean.

If it ALWAYS shows you a screen asking you what to boot too and you want to get rid of it....you wanna try this :
Right click My Computer => Properties => Advanced => Startup and Recovery Settings

Try unchecking the first box at the top. Should say something like "time to display list of operating systems." You can manually edit that setup file but unless you know what you're doing don't.

This should work unless you're running a third party boot loader, but if you were running one you'd generally know.
