Bootcamp partition problem

Hi all,

I've repaired my disk and all permissions are correct on my rPro but I am still unable to get past the install screen where I choose what size I would like my windows partition to be.

I've seen people saying a defrag would be required in some cases but as I have an SSD I didn't think that was applicable.

Any advice?

Edit: I have 124GB of free space and I would like a minimum of 40GB for Windows, yet still unable to partition.
Edit 2: Trying to manually partition the drive and it says I don't have enough free space, my SSD drive thinks there is only 13mb of free space.

Problem resolved thanks to a friend. Please delete the thread mods.

How did you solve the problem?

A: we don't delete threads for that reason.
B: someone else may have this problem.

Good point, sorry.

Booted into 10.8 Recovery and used Disk Utility to fully repair permissions, verify file system and erased any free space on the SSD. Interestingly, it seems like my deleted files were still taking up a large amount of space on it until I did so.

After, I disabled Time Machine local backups through a terminal command: sudo tmutil disablelocal, which can be re-enabled through: sudo tmutil enablelocal.

Rebooted the system the went through Disk Utility to setup a Windows partition, but even after selecting 50GB for the Bootcamp partition it split 50/50 twice, still not sure why. Decided to partition through the Bootcamp utility and the drive partitioned correctly and working well.

My personal reason for Bootcamping is that I detest the OSX version of AutoCAD, and running in a VM wasn't offering spectacular performance.

Even after emptying the trash, it wasn't recovering your free space? That's bizarre.

Yep, freed up just over 30GB of space. I've had issues with the SSD before, such as my OS corrupting, with not even Disk Warrior able to save it, if that is at all related.
