Bootable XP CD Issues

If anyone can please tell what I am doing wrong.

First and foremost my files got so corrupted with XP, it lost my Boot Files or corrupted them.

Well with the handy dandy Bootable XP CD I was not able to to choose Manual or Fast Repair from the options. It does not list Repair or Recover option, only

When it says repair in the Repair options it only says Repair Files using recovery console!!

What have I done wrong.

I referenced this with Microsoft XP Professional Administrator's Pocket Consultant by William R. Stanek, page 333. I even had a snap shot...but I cannot get to this option that it is talking about.

any ideas?

reboot to repair console and run fixboot.exe... at least that was what it was called in Win2k.. I havent had to use it in XP yet.

Hey thanks,

I appreciate it. Fixboot is what I had used for Windows 2k, but I shortcuted and used the Fast Repair. I am suprised even downloading the diskettes the 6 for XP professional... that it does not specify a manual or repair option..either

Thanks and have an awesome Christmas.
