bootable cd for bios flashing

The CD should not have to read the NTFS at all. What OS are you running? In XP, just format a floppy and make it bootable. Then copy the the flash utility and the bios file tot the floppy. Then reboot to floppy and at propt flash bios. you can also create a file called autoexec.bat to automate the process.

c'mon guys gimme a little credit...:-/

I dont have a floppy drive, and i can make a el t boot cd, but just not one that can read NTFS

If you make a el t based on 2k or xp it'll read ntfs (from what I've read anyways).

Actually what I did:
fdos.org...downloaded a bootable iso with cdrom drivers...burnt the bios image on another disk and booted into freedos and then flashed the ole bios...worked good...just now i have a extra coaster lying around

Good info 🙂 I've always been warned by manufacturers against using a CD for flashing due to the need to load ATAPI drivers causing potential SNAFUs with the flash. I'll have to try that next time.
