I just purchased a used MSI K7T Turbo Ver. 3 board that has promise raid on it but raid is something I don't use. Upon boot up, there's the basic first screen that shows you CPU speed, memory, mobo bios version, IDE devices, etc.. After that there is a screen that indicates that its searching for IDE devices and then shows (boldness indicates text is flashing)

No Array is defined................

Press (Ctrl-F) to enter FastBuild (tm) Utility or
Press (ESC) to continue booting...

I've tried entering FastBuild but each time I'm in there, any key stroke I make resets the computer. So I get the message again and hit ESC so I can boot up to the OS. Is there a way to get around this whole message for which I have to hit ESC to boot into the OS?

EDIT: pdf files can be downloaded here.

I've looked through the bios as well as the pdf manual from MSI's website to no avail :( I swear I must be missing something because going through the bios and the pdf files multiple times isn't giving me any clues.

Any way to change the device boot order? Mines floppy, CD, then HD. Usually theres an option for the raid. Tried uninstalling it usually under scsi in device manager. There's a jumper to use those slots for ide devices instead of a raid array. Make sure it's set for ata 100 mode. If it's not being used as a raid array. There's also a jumper to disable those ide slots if your not using them.
J23 between pci 5 and 6 1 being nearest the agp slot. 1 2 to enable 2 3 to disable

Tried that with no success.

As you mention, there should be an option to disable the raid controller, either through jumpers or bios, but there just doesn't seem to be, which is very strange. The jumper you mention doesn't exist on my board. Do we have the exact same boards (version 3)? I'll try putting the hard drive onto one of the raid ide controllers to see what happends.

Well well well.. guess what I found at MSI's site?

Can I disable on-board RAID controller on my K7T Turbo?
You cant. But you can use the IDE3/IDE4 as a normal HDD by setting the HDD as "slave"

Guess that answers my question.
