Hey, folks. Hope you can help me with this prob.
I buiilt my daughter a computer last year. It has been running great until today.
When she boots up it keeps recycling through the memory test.
Tried going into safe mode, but when she chooses the safe mode, it ask for os. she only has winxp so she hits enter and it starts checking memoty all over again.
I used an Abbit nf-7s mb with 512k om crucial memory, Gainward g-force 3 vid card
in an Antec case with Antec ps.
My daughter is 500 miles away from me so the only way I can try to fix this in over the phone.
Thanks

Yes. There are two sticks of ram. I had her remove one and try. Same prob. Tried with the other stick only and same prob.
The only thing she changed was to remove a program alled Slipstream. Made sure she did not remove any common files when she did this.

Sorry, Smilin.
She is two states away. She says that it just keeps recycling through the memory check and won't go any further.
Thanks for the replies, guys. I wish I could be more specific with my answers.

How does it cycle through?

Does it go through the mem count, then switch off and restart up to the end of the mem count,
then switch off and etc etc?

Or,
does it go through the mem count, then go back to 0 and go through the mem count?

Or,
What ever else does your kid mean?

She says it will complete the memory count then go back to zero and count again.
Sorry if it is confusing for you, but you should be on this end. lol
