BOOT UP PROBLEMS

I have a feeling I know the answer, but I figure I will pose my question to the forum and see if my suspisions are correct.

I'm building a new HTPC (the specs are below). This past weekend I had an issue with the Ultra X-Connect PS that I had installed. After replacing it, I was able to reload Win Media Center and the MB drivers. All seemed good, but when the computer would reboot, during POST, I would get an error about EXITING NVIDIA AGENT, Boot disk failure, insert system disk and press enter'. I was able to use the MB driver disk a couple of times, but the last time I tried, that didn't work either. Regardless, I shouldn't be getting this error.

In addition to that, when I originally installed the OS, I did a full format - this took FOREVER - like 2 hours.

I used the IDE cable that came with the MB. I also bought some rounded cables from Directron and tried them. So I don't think it's the cable.

I'm pretty sure that I have the jumper set to master on the hard drive and it IS the only item on the IDE cable.

I think the hard drive is bad. What do you think?

Oh yea, I almost forgot - I activated Windows when I was installing drivers. Is this going to be a big problem with Microsoft?
