boot screen resolution so huge???

anyone know why every time i boot up, the screen where it tells you the bios version and mother board version is so blown up? i thought it was the resolution on my desktop, which i dropped from 1152x864 to 800x600. and i also tried swapping the video cards, from my voodoo3 2000 to a #9 video card and it had the same problem.
could it be my samsung syncmaster 700NF monitor?

Nothings wrong with you monitor-thats just the way it is. Your computer cant boot at your desktop's resolution because at the BIOS screen Windows hasnt even begun to load yet. Its just a basic low-res thats imbedded your video card's bios.
