I had XP on a system and I installed Win2k. I have a boot menu for XP even though I formatted the drive it was on. What do I have to do to get rid of this boot menu?
If I understand your question right, you have the option to boot into xp still. To rid your system of this you need to edit your boot.ini file which is in the root of the C drive. To see the file you have to change your view options to see all system files. Also for future reference if you want to do a clean install I would delete all partitions and I would do a fdisk /mbr to erase the mbr.
