Hi
When I start my computer it doesn't boot at first but if I leave it on for about 1 minute then it boots. Also when the system is off the clock doesn't count. So when I start my computer the next time it shows the time when I last turned it off. I have tried different BIOS but it hasn't done any difference. I haven't overclocked anything in my system. Except for the boot and clock problem the computer works great. Anyone has any idea what could cause this?

My specs:
Epox 9npa+ ultra
Seasonic S12 430W
3500+ Winchester
7900 GT
Corsair VS 1024 MB
WD raptor 74GB
WD caviar 250 GB
Nec ND3550
Antec P180

Grateful for any help.

Yeah, I also thought i't could be something like that because when I had recently put the system together it sounded like something was writing to a disc. This sound was there even when i turned off the power to the computer, even if I pulled out the powercable. So I got a new battery but maybe the new one has been emptied also. Could there be something wrong with the BIOS-chip that makes it rewrite something in a loop so the battery is depleted or something? And why does it start after a minute? Does the BIOS have to rewrite or something every time I start up the computer?

Thx for the replies btw, nice to get some outside input.

I had the same problem with my k8n diamond plus and just RMAd it. It took forever to boot and tried to read from my empty DVD drive after i used their windows application to flash my bios. :(

Had something like this. My hard drive defaulted to pmi mode. Once I got it back to dmi mode it was fine. Might try to check.
