Boot Problem and Instability with 2GB

Hi, as the thread title suggests...

Last night, I was moving house... so I had to disconnect my PC and put it in the boot of the car to take it away. I ensured that everything was stable at the back but got home and only to find my PC will not boot with 2GB of memory (2x G.Skill ZX).

I'm running an ASUS A8N-SLI Premium motherboard. It won't boot at all, so I am unable to run Memtest with both sticks in place. I've just ran Memtest on 1 stick for 8 passes and it reports no errors and am now currently doing it for the 2nd stick... is this the best way to verify a memory error?

When using 2GB - I am greeted with a voice post message saying "System failed memory test error" and a blank screen and cannot go into the BIOS - it's a long beep, followed by 3 beeps which indicates it's memory related. I've also resetted the CMOS which has ultimately put everything back to stock.

I'm hoping it's not a board problem. =/

That's pretty much the best method. If you are testing both sticks individually in the same slot, and they both pass, cylce the test through the slots with a good stick.. Since this board has 4 slots (If i remember right), if you have 1 bad slot, you still may be able to use the other 3.

Just test one stick at a time, either 1 of the 2 is messed up. Or changing slots around too.
