scenario:

Main boot is SCSI on a SCSI card for OS

I just purchased two SATA drives to run in RAID 0 on a controller from the MB

MB is ASUS A8R32 MVP Deluxe

Tried Scenarios:

Setting the boot priority to the SCSI drive first... but that is not an options in the bios (could this be because of the IRQ?)

I have to press F8 (BBS POPUP) to get the boot device option, then choose the drive. This should have to happen. What am i doing wrong or overlooking?

read the manual for the old scsi card and you may be out of luck and either have to deal with manually choosing the scsi card or look at moving the OS to a SATA drive instead.

The SCSI card is an Option when there are no SATA drives plugged in but it defaults to the SATA's when they are in and when i choose the F8 key during boot to choose boot device, i also cannot make a priority drive, it just has arrows to select the drive.

trying that now

EDIT: tried it and it didn't have a bootable drive - it asked to reboot... even with the SATA drives taken off the boot list and manually booting the SCSI drive, the SATA drives end up being seen through windows

I think it has to do with the SATA controller being on the MB cause I know if it were from a card, I would have to arrange the SCSI card closer to the top PCI slot before any SATA controller card, otherwise the SATA card would boot first, its like a manual/hardware default er something... thats why i'm hoping its something like ... *blind guess* an IRQ thing?!

EDIT: the IRQ for the onboard SATA device controller is 17 the SCSI card is 19 & 20

EDIT # 2 or 3: I got it, i forgot after hitting the F8 key, the bios opens up an option for the hard disks... right under where it says "boot Priority" haaaaa hahahhaah
