boot loop with new ata controller card

So i bought a SIIG ata 133 controller card. It installed fine with the provided driver and shows up under computer hardware. It works fine to this point but then i add a hard drive to the controller card and suddenly whenever i try to boot up the machine it boots up and sees the drive fine but right before it shows the windows xp splash screen it just boots again and i see the asus bios splash screen. Any idea how I could get this to stop. It has to be the card or drivers or maybe a setting. I dropped in an old ata 66 controller and things run fine.
