Boot loop issue z68

I have a gigabyte z68 mb

I've read online I'm not the only one having this issue. Cold start --> it'll boot and restart, repeat about 5x or infinite until I turn off the power supply. Overclock is stable (prime 95 @ 3 hours).

I've updated the bios (f10). Still have this issue argh!. Once I get passed the boot loop everything is fine.

Also one other question

I have 2 hard drives and 1 solid state drive.

If I wanted to set up intel smart response (ssd cache) how would I go about this? I'm going to reinstall windows today and wanted to do this. Should I disconnect my current hard drives, and only have the ssd active.

In the bios do I enable XHD raid and enable gsata 3 (also xhdraid). Could someone provide me insight : )

Thanks

Yes, it is a known issue with some (conservatively) GB mobo and I have one myself as I HAD this same issue and I never bothered to overclock my 2500k anymore.
As for SSD caching. Go to GB mobo web site download and install all the latest utility (Intel SRT) and there is a instruction in pdf version that shows you how to do it.

Does gsata need to be enabled? Looking online, seems if you turn off gsata, the boot loop problem goes away.

Will srt work without gsata?

"gsata" or gigabyte SATA is actually the marvel controller 2 SATA III ports
Your reboots are the results of the bios/Op Sys trying to find a drive or O/S that just isnt there, so it keeps trying

And SRT is Intels caching utility, only works on their ports. A 60GB or smaller SSD drive cached to a normal spinner HDD with O/S on it, in RAID mode only. You need to do your homework

Heh...Already assumed the reboots are operating system related? The computer doesn't even get passed post sometimes and goes into a boot loop. Eventually it loads windows. It's a problem with z68 boards, nothing to do with my OS.

I've done most of my homework on the board, Intel SRT is a tad bit confusing. I figured it would be easier for me to just ask, as admit-tingly I did not the term "gsata" was coined by gigabyte, but rather just a fancy way of saying a "faster sata." I did know that it was a Marvell controller. I didn't know Intel requires the SSD to be on their ports.

Your post was helpful in a sense but came of a little dick-ish.

Thanks

Mostly, I come to AT for Hot Deals sub forum.
Not to post, just to look.
Seems like a good policy for the mobo forum also.
So noted.
