boot.ini Question

I dual-boot Win2k and WinME. I reinstalled Win2k a few times, and each time it adds another line to the boot menu screen. So I have 3 listings for Windows 2000, and one for Windows ME. I want to get rid of the duplicate listings. I researched around and found out that I have to edit the boot.ini file, but I can't find it. Hidden files are shown, and I still can't find it. I'm almost sure that I don't have it. How is my computer running without the boot.ini file? It must be reading the boot menu information from somewhere.

Thanks.

In windows explorer, you can also go in to Tools, Folder Options, View and then un check "Hide protected operating system files" (that will give you a warning) as well as check the radio button for show all files and folders. That is the way I did it.
