Boot Failure?!

Funny story. My motherboared apparently 'Fried', I got the RMA. Got the new motherboared, installed it and got these errors:

Boot Failure, reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device. Press Any Key to continue.

Boot Failure from previous device.

Client Mac ADDR 0011098BECD3 Guid a bunch of zeros[

Now the above was told to me on the phone so I dont know if there was more to the screen. But I do know the Client Mac error was on a page that contained some more information. Anyway, so this happened to this computer. Then, I just plugged in my brothers computer (Identicle in every part, except nothing's ever failed on it).. and oddly enough, same exact error.

Now I dont know much about computers, next to nothing. I built these 2 computers mainly from learning online and the manuals provided with the parts. What could this be? I can't even put a bootable windows xp pro cd in and have it load. The computer's hard drives should be working and they already contain information and i dont see a need to format them. I simply put the windows xp cd in to see if it would boot. Apparently not. So that leads me to believe that something is off with the hardware, maybe i connected something wrong i dont know. I dont have a disk drive, and there then of course isnt a disk inside the computer when i turn it on to get this error, nether is there a cd.

Any help appreciated, the more you know the better cuz i have to drive between houses (10 miles) to check for possible solutions before i can get back on another computer. Thanks again.

Do you have anything on the hard drive that you need to retain ?

If not, have you tried to do FDISK and FORMAT of hard drive using a Win98se boot diskette ?

And then reinstall the XP operating system from scratch. If this is an option, it will probably the the fastest and best solution to your problem.
