Hello everyone,

I built a new PC with just about all new parts yesterday. Any ideas why I can't boot to any of cd drives? They all turn on; I can hear it. I need to get on it to boot into my Windows XP CD so that I can format my hard drives. The cd is bootable because I used it the other day on another computer. The motherboard detects the DVD drive.

obligatory check boot order in BIOS reply.

Yeah, all jumpers are all set... I tried booting to the hard drive and the cd drives.. still no avail.

And yes, my cd drive is the first boot device. In fact, I even disabled everything except the cd drives. I also tried changing the cables and rearraging everything.

I heard that you need to update the bios for the dual core cpus, but I'm not sure if that'd make a difference in booting media like cd's.

Any idea as to how to update the bios?

Also, I Just noticed the light on my cpu fan gets dimmer and brighter.. Like it's fading in and out.

It's a Zalman cnps9500.
