boot camp kernel panic

has anyone else had the boot camp kernel panic problem?

where when you try to run boot camp assistant to partition - it kernel panics? mine also kernel panics in disk utility both in os x and when booting off the leopard cd and running disk util.

some people say its because of fragmentation of the free space and the only easy fix is to buy a 30 dollar iDefrag proram.

Is there any other fix or easy fix anyone knows about?

It seems like this has been a problem since leopard came out. I wish apple would fix this 🙁
