Hi

I've have a little problem. And I was wondering if it's possible to boot and install windows xp with the help off and usb memory stick. You see I have an thinkpad x60 and I don't have any access to any external units like floppy or cd-rom. I search the net and all I found was how to boot from a usb memory but not any info on how to boot and install (if it's possible which I hope it is)

Thanks in advance.

Well if the BIOS supports booting from a USB device, then I guess you could do it.

Rather than install Windows on the USB stick as it sounds like you're trying to do, just copy the Windows XP CD to the USB stick and boot to it, it should run setup from the stick directly.

You may also try formatting the hard drive of the laptop and then copying the contents of the CD (from the USB stick) to the hard drive, setup might be a whole lot faster that way.
