Well I enter Anandtech's General Hardware Forum today to check out on any potential interesting posts and lo and behold, I see the following "Enter to win TigerDirect.com's $250,000 Holiday Sweepstakes & shop for great deals!"
First off, how is this in any way related to hardware?
Secondly since when have paid advertisers been able to actively post adds in the form of posts?
Thirdly, anyone who frequents the Hot Deal section knows that Tigerdirect is a very dubious reseller and there are plenty of people (on these forums) who have been ripped off by them (either receiving a wrong item, not receiving rebates, not getting to customer support, etc.).
I'm rather dissapointed here. Its one thing to have posts that ask users to sign up for Anandtech sponsered programs, but its a completely different story to ask members to purchase items from a sponser.
