strip it down to just CPU, video card, one stick of RAM, and one hard drive. Unplug everything else. see if it'll POST properly then. If it does, add one component back at a time until you find the conflict.

Good luck

Right before the disassembly we had gotten the sucker to post but unless the windows cd is installed it will go to a blank screen with a blinking cursor that you cant do anything with

If the windows CD is in if get to a point where it says that error

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324103

So its a hard ware issue...
I can see why we would strip her all down just to see what is going wrong... yes?

So what ever is plugged into the 3rd ide plug is the malfunction?

So... It seems that it might be his New Hard drive
The Raptor 74 gig
that might be the problem
So i took it home to Format it...
I hope that this does it... But we will say

The third master is the SATA controller. Perhaps a corrupted driver or partition error on the Raptor.

Well using the Microsoft floppy install for the first part of the windows..
Got past the Above mentiond error...

But

now the Disk drives wont be detected by windows...

Does this mean Windows wont let a DVD rom drive work if you use the 6 Floppies?

THis is crap

Im not sure where to go from this point...
But hope fully ill get some idea's from you guys or find it on my own ><

Ok so this is where we are now

Got the BIOS to read the Disk drives after setting them on the primary with one set to mast and the other set cable select

Now that the BIOS sees the Disk drives they dont show up on the post...

But none the less it is working as of now

The floppy's that i had down-loaded from Microsoft web site happent o be the wrong ones
I grabbed the SP1 rather then the sp2 ><

Right now we are formatting the Raptor drive and hoping that Windows will fully install...

check ur jumpers on those drives,, if u only have ONE drive on an ide channel it has to be cable select/single,

That actually fuks with the mobo sometimes..

set ur mem timings manually,, and probably even loosen them, cuz 4x1gig sticks,, bad idea..

whats with people and asus, i know they're originanly jap, but now all their stuff made in taiwan/china
