Oregan State IMHO is the next best team, but they DID lose a game, therefore, it wouldn't be fair to say that. But I do agree, it would've DEFINATELY been a helluva battle. OSU is THAT good (evidence of their thrashing they laid upon their victom (Notre Damne) in their bowl.

Anyhow, great season OSU... (but ours was better!)

I must say, it was less than spectacular for a championship game. FSU's fg kicker needs to find something else to do with his free time, not that that was the only reason they lost. I congratulate OU, but can't help wonder whether Washington or Miami would have fared better. For UM, it would have been a home game and maybe that would have been unfair. I wonder if deep down, FSU had it on their minds that UM should have been there and they weren't sure how the natives in Miami were going to take to them being there.
