BOOM before going to sleep

You hear it sometimes? Happens just as i'm falling asleep and then BOOM, like someone pounding on the wall. Sounds as clear as a bell. Its a bed time hallucination, but still weird.

Sometimes while falling asleep, if I drop off really quickly it will feel like I got kicked in the brain. It's odd.

Uh... might want to get that checked.

I never remember actually falling asleep, I basically just lay down and black out until I wake up.

I hear things, but usually I'll be in the middle of falling asleep and I'll hear music playing, clear as day. As soon as I open my eyes it stops. Then I can close my eyes, start falling asleep again and I hear it.. It's as if it's playing right next to me.

No, but a few times a year I will wake up with a completely numb and limp arm. That wouldn't be so bad, but since I can't feel it I don't know it is mine, so I feel something foreign laying on my chest and face and wake up with a start. The last time that happened I was sleeping in a basement known for bugs, so I was somewhat on edge about sharing my bed with crawlies. I happened to be sleeping near the edge, was just starting to wake, and felt something weird on top of me. My reptile brain asserted itself I flailed myself clear off the bed.

no booms before sleep, but sometimes I wake up from a boom only to hear "you're crazy" from my gf

Hypnagogic hallucination. When falling to sleep is ripe for hallucinations. Be thankful that a boom is the only thing you experience.

I'll be darned. That is exactly what I have every so often. Had no idea this was a known thing. Makes me feel a little better!

SHIT. I thought it was just something odd that happened to me every now and again. It's not often, but sometimes a couple hours after I fall asleep I swear I hear a door slam. It's enough that it should wake up the whole house, but everyone is fast asleep except me who is all worried wondering who is in the house.

Sometimes I'll get that too. I'll be drifting off to sleep and I'll hear a loud rapping sound, like what you would hear if you slapped a desk with a long ruler.
