Wheel of Time series (Robert Jordan)

Probably too difficult/long to put into movie form, though.
I'll second both of those notions. It would be great to see it as a movie but something like a miniseries would better suit the series. Either would be awesome to see, though.

Assuming someone competent would do it...

Killing Pablo (Mark Bowden)
Debt of Honor (Tom Clancy)
Bringing Down the House (Actually anything by Ben Mezrich would be great)

It wouldn't go over well, IIRC - disgraced opponent of the US crashes jumbo jet full of fuel into Congress while in session.

I thought that was "Executive Order"... but not while Congress is in session, during the State of the Union address.

the hobbit, this might make the best LOTR movie. and enders game would be good, but the story would seem kinda similar to the Halo movie that is already in production

The rest of James Patterson's Alex Cross series.
The Dan Brown books, primarily Angels & Demons. I thought it was better than DVC anyway.

A good Conan (the barbarian) movie
pretty much any movies based on Robert E. Howard's stories. I believe some are in the works.

A Discworld movie. there are 2 animated movies based on Soul Music and Wyrd Sisters and there is also a live action movie based on Hogfather in the works. Need more though!

I'll agree with Neuromancer or pretty much anything by William Gibson. Also with Snow Crash or one of the other books by Neal Stephenson.

Tad Williams' Otherland series would be cool also.

More Dune movies based on the newer books by Brian Herbert (Frank Herbert's son) and Kevin Anderson

there's already at least one animated movie of it. i assume you mean live action like LOTR though?

I would love to see a Gunslinger movie. It would have to have several sequels to do it justice. If it was given top notch treatment it could be bigger than LOTR.

Gunslinger as in Stephen King's Dark Tower series?

If so, then I agree. 🙂

Yeah, I should have been more specific. 🙂 How cool would it be to see Blain, the waterfall that is miles high, Topeka after the plague etc...

Either a series of movies or an HD miniseries would work for me if they could restrain themselves to stay true to the story. Also I would love to see "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" by RA Heinlein as a movie and while on Heinlein maybe someone could actually make a "Starship Troopers" movie that actually follows the story as written.

another vote for Ender's Gmae. great book.

Awesome book.. one of my favorites. However, it would make a HORRIBLE movie for the simple fact that nearly the entire cast would be little children.

As for what I'd like...

The Trial by Franz Kafka could be a potentially interesting movie, if done right (though I doubt it would do justice to the book).

The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkein

Neuromancer by Gibson

Wheel of Time (would make a better mini series)

Something from the Dragonriders of Pern books by Ann McKaffry (sp?) (White Dragon was always my favorite but I'm not sure which would be the best movie).

It would be great, although I fear that a lot would be lost in the translation.

I'd be happy with just a movie adaptation of Wizard and Glass.
