I am into computer programming and the Internet and computer science.
I like two interesting books that I have and have read. Both are a little dated and both are interesting to read. I firmly like the concept, "You have to know where you came from to know where you are going." Both the books look at the concepts of computer and software development and then the realities of the business side of the industry, which are often at odds with each other.
Where Wizards Stay up Late
This is the history of the development of the Internet and what it took to build, who worked on it and how DARPA came to develop this thing that turned into the Internet, and
WWW...., E-Mail and who knows what else. I like this book because it shows the Politics involved, the technological development, the Prorgrammers, and the companies that worked on it.

Another Book I like is:
Accidental Empires
This book is publishe by Harpers Busieness Press. It is all about the development of the modern PC. It stars Bill Gates, IBM, Intel, Gary Kilduff, and others who made and lost millions in the PC industry and the software industry. Some people actually made millions went out of business and bounced back from defeat. It sometimes jumps back in forth in time and rambles a bit but you get use to the writing style after a couple of chapters.
