I was wondering if anyone could recommend any good books that explain the history of the conflicts in the Middle East?
I'm interested in learning more about the historical events that led to the current conflicts. Ideally, I'm looking for a book that isn't too biased for one side of the other, one that just "tells it as it is."

Are there any books you could recommend that explain at least part of the situtation?

I don't really need only one book, just some resources to learn from.

This book was writen by a non Jew and a non Muslim who was sent there for a couple years to do his research on the two countries to write this book. I have read this book and it is not bias at all. Goes into depth on how both people live their lives and how they view the other side.

Arab and Jew by David K. Shipler

I wouldn't trust most books on the topic written by arabs or jews. Both sides are incredibly bias.
