Definitely remember a lot of these books, damn now I feel old in my mid-20's. One that wasn't mentioned but just popped into my head is a book about a penny tree or something, I do know it had to do with pennies being planted in the ground and was heavy on the illustrations. I looked around online and can't find anything that reminded me of it, initially thought it was simply called "The Penny Tree" but that doesn't seem to be it. Any ideas?

I read a lot while growing up. If I wasn't running around, I was plunked down somewhere reading.
