bought one of these last weekend, and they're not that bad, but I think you do get what you pay for. I have all my course books on one shelf, as well as two unabridged dictionaries, and it's holding up ok.

I bought the 5 shelf last time they were on sale and I'm happy with it especially for the price. I have a lot of stuff on the shelves and I don't think they'll break as easily as some people are making it sound.

I agree there's nothing wrong with these shelves. I've owned two 5 shelf and one 3 shelf for 6 months and they've held up fine...books, scanner, mini shelf stereo system etc on em.

Unless you plan to load them with cinder blocks they'll do what bookcase shelves are supposed to do.

They do run them cheaper on rare occasions though...still at this price they're hard to beat.

I have 3 of these bookshelves. I do agree taht they aren't the greatest quality, but they hold together pretty well. I do notice that the shelves noticebly bend if you put too much on them.

Great for DVDs and Games though.

Yeah its not solid wood, but I have 6 five shelves and 2 four shelves and they are perfectly fine. Have some serious weight on a couple of the shelves and they are fine, don't have much if any bending. The paperbacks and shelves that aren't jampacked with hardcovers are not sagging at all.

sounds like a fair deal to me. might not be such good quality, but for the price its decent. just dont put a whole lot of heavy books on it.
