You used it to... not solve something?

Gradshteyn and Ryzhik, never leave home without it.

The book I rememberd had nothing but unsolvable integrals. It was just a list. But this should suffice since it is over 1200 pages.

Ooooh... they have a 7th edition now. My advisor left his copy back in the States and I really should pressure him to get another one for us out here.

In addition to Gradshteyn and Ryzhik there is also Abramowitz and Stegun.

For me, it was a book of motivation. Of course, I always crashed down to earth. But it was fun.

EDIT: It was also good to look at the underlying proof to see what I could learn.

haha, sometimes I apply to that way of thinking. Gives me a little extra motivation to not be the idiot that couldn't do something that was done already by someone else. :p

Oh man, my old thread. My wife and I have been battling this week. She was laughing at me for doing some calculations in my head even though I had Excel open. I told her that if you don't do something for a long time you tend to forget it. She laughed and said 'no'. So, I challenged her to a logic question I studied in high school. She got it right. Then a calculus problem from undergrad. She got it right too. Angry, I got an integral from the above book. She's stuck, obviously. That'll show her...
