when? o_O I check every couple months, but I don't think I've ever seen discounts/sales for BoM.

Bought them a month ago for a show yesterday; BoM is leaving LA this Sunday (to move 50 miles south). I guess all the people that really wanted them got tickets already, so they were fairly plentiful. It wasn't a sale btw, it was regular price. I did notice that pricing was incredibly variable depending on time/day/seat location.

Perhaps if BoM extends it's run (wherever they are playing near you) check again then?

aaah, $90/seat in LA?

I'm referring to Broadway-broadway prices... Book of Mormon (un-discounted) tickets are currently $159 for the shittiest seats in the theater. front orchestra/mezz is +$3-400/seat  it'd be cheaper for me to fly to LA, see the show, and fly back to NYC.

it pretty much only applies to the big tourist attraction shows. for lesser-known and/or older shows, there are always discounts to be had.

going to see a new musical this weekend and tickets were only $89/seat despite the fact that it's nominated for a bajillion awards. of course, if it wins half of them, I'm sure next year those tickets will be twice as much.

Saw it last year in Chicago and it was one of the funniest things I've seen.

Tip for those looking to save money, we talked to a few people there that showed up the day of the event and were able to score single seats at very low prices from the box office. If you are willing to sit next to a couple people you don't know, you might be able to save a good amount.

Saw it about a month ago in Boston. It had some funny parts but I dunno. I didn't think it was THAT great. Some of it was downright uncomfortable. As in, do I laugh or worry about burning in hell if I laugh?

IMO it was good, but not the be all and end all of broadway shows that it has been touted to be. And I am a huge fan of Trey Parker and Matt Stone. . .

If you were worried about possibly burning in hell you may not have been quite the target audience.

Just sayin ;)

Understood. I'm not "religious" per se (I do believe in god) and I am not easily offended. But I found it very hard to laugh at some of the stuff in that show. A song with lyrics that amount to "fuck you god" is not really funny to me. Its definitely scandalous and a little shocking, but not really funny. I wasn't offended or anything. I just didn't find any humor in some parts of the show. Not that the entire show wasn't funny. There were some truly hilarious parts.
Like when the Mormons are going to win an award for converting the most Africans and the Africans show up and demonstrate what they have learned to the person providing the award.

Ah well. Sorry to be a Debbie downer.
