Do you sell yours back? Just got back from the bookstore. I tried to sell back 7 of mine and they would only buy a 'study guide' from me for $1. Now I have no clue what I should do with them. Everytime the school decides to go with a new edition the previous editions go obsolete. Are there any other places where I would have a better chance of making some money back?

My school has lil cork boards where you can post stuff for sale you have lying around....I see a lot of people reselling their books...its cheaper than what they can buy in the bookstores and you'll get some $$ back.

try online places like bigwords, e-campus, etc

they usually give you a better rate

Bookstore buybacks are one big huge joke. Frankly, since they pay you pennies on the dollar, you're better off keeping them. I don't know what I'll do with them all, but I'll look smarter, or something

I keep the ones that I figure I'll need sometime later (sciences and such for studying if I forget), or that were interesting, and just sell the rest back...usually regardless of how much I get for them. I end up writing off the amount that I spend initially on books as gone anyways, and so any refund is like getting a little bonus. It's all a mental game, I tell you...heh.

since bigwords.com went under, the best bet is ecampus, they give you pretty fair rates, and B&N is pretty good too

I only sell back books for core classes. Anything in my major that is important I keep.

BTW what books are you trying to get rid of? I like to read text books.
