Spent a little extra cash last time I bought a basketball and got the spalding 'never flat' basketball. 6 months of little use later the thing won't hold air. So I have to pump up the ball everytime before I use it now. I talked to a CSR to see if I could send it back for another one and they said pumping up the ball voids the warranty =/ - If the bastard was "never flat" as advertised, I wouldn't need to pump it up.

Anyways, I'd just recommend you stay away from the never flats. I should of got a hint when a couple of 'never flat' balls at the store were flat while still in the box 😛

Now I need to find another outdoor ball. Not exactly a whole lot of choice out there.

dont buy spaulding tech products... infusion, never flat... they are just gimmicks. buy a quality ball and a cheapo pump.

Good question. I also wondered that.

What would a 'quality' ball be? Needs to work for outdoor play.

Yeah I've had one of those and if you use it outdoor, the ball gets really rough and even if you pump it up normally, it never really bounces well. I always like the cheapo rubber outdoor only ones the best, they last long and bounce well, plus like $9. Not the super cheap orange ones, but the 'name brand' rubber ones.

Its not a regular valve, It's capped and states right on the ball

DO NOT REMOVE CAP FOR AIR VALVE UNDER ONE YEAR OR THIS WILL VOID WARRANTY

Duh 😕

Look into a Molten basketball. Their synthetics are much nicer than Spalding and they are the official basketball of FIBA. The size and weight is the same as an NBA ball, but the material is much higher quality than anything Spalding makes for outdoor use.

most quality soccer balls require pumping every game 0.o

completely unrelated, but my bicycle tires require pumping every day.
