They didn't have a single Athlon64-equipped HP laptop in the whole of central Maryland. They were $200 off, rebate ends today. Now I have to wait until... Like, Monday for a new batch of sales.

Not on there based upon their inventory computer. They had one left in Catonsville, but it sold out WHILE THEY WERE LOOKING AT THE INVENTORY.

And the supervisor didn't want to issue a raincheck because it's not a very good practice (and I agree)

why not? unless it's a clearance product that's no longer supposed to come in, I don't see the problem. I mean the purpose of the raincheck is to honour the price for you since they didn't have it in stock. The reason why stores don't like issuing rainchecks is because a 200 dollar discount on a laptop is sometimes vendor-funded.
