I checked to see if this was posted, didn't find anything.

$100 Cash Bonus!
It's easy to qualify for the $100 Cash Bonus. Simply purchase any desktop or notebook computer from TigerDirect and enter the order number and serial number of the PC.

or

And, even if you don't buy a PC, you can get a cash bonus of $25 for just applying. (Not too clear on this one.

Before you jump on this deal, check TigerDirect's (2.9) rating at ResellerRatings.com.

Read the (horror) stories posted by their customers - then decide. "Do you feel lucky today . . . well, do you?"

EDIT: Always check out the ratings of any online vendor before making a purchase. Especially read the comments. A clear pattern will usually emerge. You can usually discern where the fault is the customer's or obviously the online vendor's employees are padding the comments to make their company look better. Buyer beware.

The fine print:

<< In order to receive your cash bonus, you must open an EverMoney Account and maintain a minimum balance of $500 in your account for a minimum of 6 months. Within 30 days after the 6-month period, we will credit your EverMoney Account for the amount of your bonus. For purchasers of a desktop or laptop computer from TigerDirect.com, the bonus is $100. For non-purchasers of computers, the bonus is $25. Not valid with any other offer from everbank. >>

If you have $500 to invest, a $100 return in 6 months is still a good deal. Apparently, there are no fees associated with the account.

i have to say that i have mixed feelings about tiger direct

i ordered a small case, soyo socket 7 mobo, k6-2 500, floppy drive, and cables for about $180 shipped last month. I have to say that it shipped very fast and the case is pretty damn nice.

However, my friend ordered a computer from them about a year and a half ago. It came and was DOA. He fought with the CSR's for almost 6 months before he got a refund for it.

Maybe they've changed the way they do business, or maybe i just got lucky. I'll let you decide for yourself.

The small prints says partly: "...There are no monthly maintenance fees charges in any month that your average daily balance for the month remains $1,500 or higher. Otherwise a $4.95 monthly fee is charged for the month, and no interest is paid..."

Also, I'm not sure if the deal is still good, because no entry can be made to the "Order Number" and "Item Number" areas right above the "Apply Now!" button in the $100 Cash Bonus coupon.

I decided to do the deal. The possibility of a $50 BlasterPC case, mobo, and SB Live! Platinum was too hard to pass up. This will be my first experience with TigerDirect so I have my fingers crossed.

Also of note, the link to the bank application was a bit strange. There does not seem to be any check to confirm that you bought anything at TigerDirect, just a reference code. We'll see if the $100 cash deal comes through in 7 months.

I just got a mail from Tiger stating that the response to this deal was overwhelming but that they should be shipping more next week...
If you're going to order better get in the que.

I was GOING to jump on this deal after Carl Fiorentino, Tiger CEO, kindly sent me an email to tell me all about it. Once he said that it was the "award-winning Blaster motherboard" I swear I just about wet myself in giddy anticipation. But I still haven't heard back from good ol' Carl on the email I sent him asking specifically which award that was.

And damn, I almost hyperventilated AND swallowed my own tongue when I got another note from Carl a few days ago telling me how he played hardball with this printer manufacturer and was going to sell me an inkjet printer WITH USB-parallel adapter for $40, which as everyone knows is about what you'd pay for the adapter alone.

Phew, I'd pay Carl money just to hear him tell me more action-packed stories about his negotiating skills with vendors.

😉

does anyone have any more info about this deal? i am torn between trying this deal or the one in the other thread for $155 with free shipping. thanks, beatniks3.

I got this kit from TigerDirect and I'm pretty happy with it. The case is nice, and the kit came with a step by step guide to assembling the PC thay hand-holds you literally through every minute detail of assembly. The guide has ample (3 per page) pictures and illustrations.

Tiger Direct has gotten a bad name on here. I don't really want to defend them, but I remember in 1996-1997--I used to use them to get decent computer parts at a pretty good price. I bought about 8 PC kit systems from them that were high quality systems at the time, but only cost a few hundred each. I had a special customer service number I'd deal with and the CSRs were always quick to help when there was a problem. As far as any rebates or deals......I always read the fine print and don't go for flashy deals that look "too good to be true". Anytime there's a rebate, there's usually a catch. Tigerdirect claims to be a wholesaler, but we all know that's not true. They sell things higher than pricewatch. Bottom line- Read everything and think logically, "What's the catch?" If you can't find one, look again...then make the deal if it still looks good or come on here and ask anyone else if they've had luck with it. Good luck on getting some good deals!

TigerDirect is by far one of the WORST!!! customer support outfits I have ever known. They are a volume sells company ONLY!!! They could care less about you as a person or your problem. You get what you paid for. Garbage in Garbage out.... Just try and email Mr. Thomas Finizia at TigerDirect and see what kind of reply you get if any.
