Bonnaroo 2015 - WTF

Did they get together in a room and wonder - how can we create a festival that nobody wants to go to?

I do not understand how they could come up with this lineup otherwise.

Out of all the acts on that poster, I've only heard of the first two. They're also the only ones I'd pay to see.

Also don't know who did the art for that poster, but it looks like the 90s exploded all over it.

when childish gambino is on the 3rd row of a 5 day festival you know you are fucking doomed.

Orwelles were supposed to play they did last year. They had too awesome of a set however and got shut down by the man last year.

The middle of that list is actually pretty good. I'd be down for seeing:

Mumford (even though I'm not a huge fan)
Deadmau5
Robert Plant
Bassnectar
Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals
STS9 (these guys are amazing)
Ben Folds
Earth Wind and Fire (though they're a little weird on this bill)
Caribou (also awesome)
Bela Fleck
Guster
Tycho

I think its a pretty good list, but much less jam-bandy than normal. But check out a lot of those above, thats a very good list.

You've never heard of Tears for Fears or Earth, Wind and Fire? Or Robert Plant?

Billy Joel & Robert Plant should pack them in and Slayer maybe to a far lesser degree.

Not a show I have any interest in at all.

Medeski, Scofield, Martin & Wood (!!!)

Definitely some real geezer rock acts on that card. I would pay money to NOT see Billy Joel.

OK. send me $2k and I'll make sure it happens.

Don't believe him, it's a scam. You can't not see Billy Joel unless you pay at least $5k. I can make that happen for you at 50% off. Yes, that's right, I am offering you a once in a lifetime opportunity to not see Billy Joel for the ludicrous price of only $2500. No tax, no shipping, no handling, no bullshit -- and no Billy Joel.

My Morning Jacket is freaking awesome; one of the best live shows I've been to in many years. However they are the only ones I would have any interest in seeing from that lineup.

Robert Plant? Never heard of him? Seriously?

Take out the bottom half of that list and it's not a bad festival. Festivals are supposed to have some acts that are new and upcoming that many haven't heard of....that's how they get "heard of".
But the whole bottom half of that one is a bunch of nobodies. It's too "nobody heavy", IMO.

That list is awesome. Bonnaroo plays to all types of people and the list certainly does as well. That place will be packed just like it is every year and people will love it.

Billy Joel as the headliner is a really weird choice, I agree.

Who the fuck would camp out to see Billy freaking Joel. He's a theater act for baby boomers, not a festival headliner.

Kendrick Lamar would be my top objective, but I'd definitely see Deadmau5, Robert Plant, Bassnectar, Slayer, probably Spoon, and depending on time, just because: Mumford & Sons, Hozier, Earth, Wind & Fire, Billy Joel, and maybe Tears for Fears.

If I had a group I might check it out simply be because that is so much music I have never been exposed to, but... I won't be going out of my way to get a group together for this.

Tears for Fears was on the Comedy Bang Bang podcast recently and they were freaking awesome. Very charismatic, funny dudes.
