Bones has really snuck some rampant advertising in.

Do you think the actors are embarrassed? Yesterday's show Bones said "Look I'm not tail-gating--adaptive cruise control". She was driving a prius. It then showed a couple of exterior shots of her driving around the capital. Then she spoke into her voice activated GPS. Later on in the show Sweets uses his iphone as a flashlight and says "I have other apps too, I can get song names..." and is cut-off. I presume on the next show they'll start talking about finance options. I find this weakens and whores the show. It's bad enough there are 17 minutes of commercials but now this.

Probably because I fast forward those 17 minutes. Fvck commercials.

Oh, near the end of the show for no reason the Prius started accelerating and when Bones hit the brakes nothing happened. Bazinga!

I prefer product placement to commercials plus I DVR everything I want to watch so I get they have to pay for content somehow

I thought it was pretty funny when Olivia was showing off her Ford car's voice commands/phone in Fringe. Then again, Fringe and 24 are already completely blatant about every car being a black Ford.

The Avatar episode of Bones was the worst.
This one was fairly moderate.

White Collar also had a Ford spot in the show. "Blind spot indicator!"

You'd think they'd be able to blend it into the show better, but it comes off as blatant advertising.

Yeah, I noticed that the other day too. I had to LOL when it happened. Honestly, for the reason that they're fucking up shows I like I would NEVER buy their products.

I agree, it can seriously cheapen a show...but if done well, I don't notice it and if it pays for the making of the show, then I'm all for it.

Internet is free?!?! Not everybody has a dumb neighbor w/ unprotected wifi, so regardless of how you watch you're paying for it.

Are you serious? How do you think your paying AT&T for your DSL line pays a content provider anything??? Have you really thought through this?

I thought they dropped ford. Anyway nothing says g-man like a convoy of black chevy suburbans. seeing a group of black navigators just made me think theres a pimp comin' through.

terminator:sarah connor chronicles had long pornographic shots of dodge pickups.

i'm all for in episode advertising as long as they don't make it too obvious - like a character emphasizing the company name or a feature listing lol.

Not big on Bones. She can look ok but other times just doesn't do it for me. I like the asian chick though and also their boss is _very_ well maintained and wears ridiculous dresses at work.

I really don't want directors going out of their way to hide a car's brand but when a huge logo is thrust in my face in center-screen I wonder if they're more interested in the show or trying to pimp their client's product.

I prefer product placement over ads. Assuming it's not too distracting...

There was an episode of The Closer where they were blatantly advertising the T-Mobile G1. The phone had a huge "G1" on the back of it (which it normally doesn't have) while the actors were showing off all the things it can do.

I didn't see Bones last night, but I've noticed that with White Collar. Every time they're in that car, it's just an ad for Ford.

This is what makes it so annoying. Drawing attention to shit like this in a TV show is just as annoying as drawing attention to it in real life.

You know that guy. He gets a new car and says "hey check out this thing I can do with this thing I just got that you don't have". 10 minutes later he comments about the same god damn thing!
